United States Weather

Most of Delaware lies in the Atlantic coastal plain, but in the northern part the land rises gently to the Piedmont Plateau and the Pennsylvania foothills. In the southeast are shallow lagoons and tidal marshes and swamps. With over 2,000 square miles there is plenty of room for a hunter. The Delaware hunting guides and outfitters listed should be able to help you plan your next trip.

The climate of Delaware is temperate in the north and highly humid, especially in midsummer, in the south. The mean temperature is about 55 degrees. Rainfall averages 44 inches a year and is well distributed. Heavy snows increase the precipitation.

The state is separated from Pennsylvania to the north by an arc-shaped boundary. Its western and southern boundaries form a right angle indenting the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It is separated from New Jersey by the Delaware River and Delaware Bay, and its coast south of Cape Henlopen faces the Atlantic coastal plain. This state offers much in hunting and should be a great trip.

Each guide and outfitter can give you additional information about specific small game and big game animals hunting in their area, along with what the weather is for their part of the state.
