Situated in the interior of the continent, midway between the northern and southern limits of the United States and too far from the oceans or the Great Lakes to be influenced by them, Missouri has a continental climate and suffers from extremes of heat and cold. The summers are hot, especially in the southeastern part of the state, where the thermometer often reaches 100 degrees or higher. The northern portions have somewhat cooler summers and more severe winters. The annual rainfall varies from about fifty inches in the south to thirty-five inches in the north.

With it’s rolling prairie, diversified by occasional hills and valleys and containing growths of timber along the streams. The portion south of the Missouri is naturally divided into three physical regions; the western plain, the Ozark Plateau, and mountainous country. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.
