Bounded on the east by New York and New Jersey, on the south by Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia, on the west by Lake Erie and New York. Pennsylvania is divided into three major topographical regions; the Northern Piedmont, the Appalachian Highlands, and the Allegheny Plateau. The minor regions are the narrow; level coastal plain, on which Philadelphia and its suburbs are located, and the low belt of rich land surrounding the rim of Lake Erie.

Generally temperate, the climate of Pennsylvania is more rigorous in the west than in the east, where the ocean moderates temperatures. Winters are severe in the mountains, but summers are pleasantly cool. The mean annual temperature in the southeast is about 52 degrees; in the central part of the state about 50 degrees; and in the northwest about 47 degrees. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.
